Frilly Fishy Fun

History

Initial ideas for this course were vague, but it was intended to be something new and unique and not simply a copy of another aquarium. Mucku (muckumamu) offered some suggestions to include sea mines and this was the trigger to get the creative juices flowing.

This fun course is dedicated to all the mermaids (and merponies) of FFF.

Description

Step into the Frilly Fish Fun Aquarium. This is a ‘There and Back’ gate slalom course with 24 double gates to navigate, circle the sea mine at the end and then retrace your steps.

Along the way you will encounter many ocean seabed obstacles and wild life, including sea mines, skeletons, crab traps and even a crashed aeroplane.

This challenging course takes you through many underwater structures, dodging discarded fishing tackle and over a rough stone bridge needs, beware of loose rocks. The tank sharks are rumoured to enjoy meals from clumsy ponies.

An underwater ruin presents a particular challenge with gates hidden inside that only come into view once you have entered the structure. The three gates inside are relatively well aligned and the necessary movements can quickly be learned with muscle memory.

Look out for the sharks and other fishes and if you begin to run short of breath there are some bubbles rising from underwater supplies.

Most of the gates are situated along a narrow underwater ridge. However, some of the gates require sharp turns to make and, on the side of the ridge, can be challenging to navigate.

When reaching the sea mine, run around it and head back along the ridge to the start line. Don’t come too close to the mine though.

Tips

  • The Sharks don’t really bite. (Although they are solid objects)
  • In the outbound direction, when going up the ridge is best performed with a jump.
In the return direction, it is better to continue running.
  • Touching a mine sets it to explode. Consequently the pony is shot straight up, thus costing time and possibly ringing ears.
  • Apply sunset environmental settings for a better ambience. Or better yet an underwater environmental setting.
